Associate - Plant a Tree Scheme

Using our partner, Earthly, Platform Smart is supporting the Agroforestry, Tree Planting Initiative in Kenya. This scheme was chosen not only to invest into our future but with the same offsetting approach as before, selecting a scheme where Platform Smart cannot have direct impact on the Sustainability Development Goals (SDG’s) through it’s day to day operations.

Platform Smart has committed to planting a tree for every single one of its Associates who have joined our Associate Programme since we were founded in 2015, this currently sits at 1,700 members. Moving forward and on an annual basis, Platform Smart will continue to invest in the scheme for every single new Associate that joins our programme.

Madagascar Project

To commemorate Earth Day, we have decided to plant 1,000 mangroves in Madagascar through our partner Earthly, contributing to the restoration of the degraded coastline affected by human activity.

Mangroves are great for trapping carbon; they also provide plenty of other natural benefits such as storm surge protection and vital habitat for many species. The Madagascar project started in 2007, and to date, they have planted over 334 million trees across 8 countries, opening up 3.3 million days of work for local communities.
