Earth Day 2024

Sustainability isn’t something that is new to Platform Smart, as a direct supplier into UK airports, transport, and critical infrastructure, we have always been challenged by our clients on the Environmental and Social Impact we have on the planet.

In celebration of Earth Day, we’d like to shine a light on some of the positive changes we have made which led to us achieving our goal of becoming Carbon Neutral during 2023, as well as additional actions we are currently taking to implement even more change.

Last year, we proudly published our first Sustainability Strategy, approach to offsetting and outlined a number of initiatives. This strategy forms a programme of works to be delivered over the next 3 years and beyond, if you’d like to read the report please click on the button below.

Understanding our Carbon Footprint and making changes to reduce and offset is a process which looks at our past and present actions, however, as a forward-thinking business that genuinely wants to play its part in making a difference, we wanted to implement something that will make a positive impact in the future.

Additionally, to commemorate Earth Day we have decided to plant 1,000 mangroves in Madagascar through our partner Earthly, contributing to the restoration of the degraded coastline affected by human activity.
